The World of Storm-Wraith
There are many characters and locations that feature throughout the Legends of the Wraiths and the mythology continues to expand.
Dominion City
The capital of the Everlight Imperium goes by many names. Officially it is Dominion City, a legacy of the country's expansionist history in past centuries. Now the centre of a democracy, many imperial citizens call it The Big D, for it is still the richest and most powerful city in the land, the seat of government and home to the Royal Family. However, those who dwell within its walls know it by a third name, the one used most often; Dark City.
For the elite, who reside in their penthouses at the top of towering skyscrapers, the sun is never far from their skin. It is ideal for the devout, who worship Holy Sol in private solar temples, reciting their prayers several times between dawn and dusk. As for the rest of the citizens, they rely on the temples at ground-level, built to catch the sun when the angle is just right to shine through gaps in the skyscrapers and down vast urban canyons.
As new towers of glass, concrete, and steel have risen, blocking the rays and leaving many temples in the dark, so too has faith in Sol's light dwindled. Some seek the sun wherever they can. Others turn to extremism and embrace the creed of flame, reckoning that holy fire generates heat and light enough while purifying the world of unbelievers. A minority turn away entirely and convert, joining the small band of moon-worshipers at the Church of Luna, an import from the sun-starved mountains and forests of Sybernia to the world's high north.
Most people, however, slide into agnosticism and atheism, fuelling a quiet despair they do not know how to overcome. The best that modern technology has to offer has improved their lives immeasurably, from the internet and smartphones to commercial flights and limitless trade from around the world. Yet, there remains an emptiness in their lives, a void where hope should be. It is unfulfilled desire for a better world unable to be born while the criminal and the corrupt press down with their iron fists. That, too, is the reason they call it Dark City, for they know it will never change and for too many the sun will never shine.
Michael Ryan / Storm-Wraith
A former criminal presumed dead and now on the road to redemption, Michael is at first reluctant to turn away from the only life he has ever known. Eventually, he recognises the time wasted in walking the wrong path and comes to embrace his new calling to protect the innocent and punish the wicked. He is recruited to a secret society called the Covenant and under the mentorship of Gabriel Loman, his predecessor as Wraith, the Covenant’s chosen warrior, Michael is intensively trained and adopts the name of Storm-Wraith. Along with an enhanced physiology thanks to experimental drugs, Michael has the aide of the advanced technology of his Wraith-Suit. His main weapon, other than cunning and guile, is an extendable battle staff that can separate into two billy clubs. Armed with a potent arsenal, Michael seeks to defend Dominion City from an assortment of powerful forces and twisted villains. Chief among them is his arch-nemesis and the man who brutalised Michael and left him for dead; Dominic Huxley, a power-hungry psychopath who will eventually pose the greatest threat that Dominion City - and Storm-Wraith - has ever faced.
Sarah Ross
Michel’s lost love and his deepest regret, Sarah is the daughter of Charlie Trelane, the foremost underworld boss of Dominion City’s Crime Families and head of House Trelane. Michael and Sarah grew up as friends after she insisted her father take in the young orphan, and ultimately became lovers. However, as Sarah gradually discovered the true nature of her father’s dealings, she came to reject them just as Michael embraced them, leading to their parting and Sarah leaving to make a new life for herself, abandoning privilege for something more noble. She became a community organiser and activist for the forgotten, the poor and the downtrodden of Dominion City’s slums. However, Sarah is dragged back into a world she tried to forget when she becomes caught up in the grand designs of Dominic Huxley, another orphan also taken in by her father and who has always had an unhealthy obsession with Sarah. As well as bringing down Huxley’s growing empire, Storm-Wraith’s main concern is protecting Sarah without revealing that Michael Ryan, the man she once loved and now thinks dead, is still very much alive and watching over and protecting her, desiring most what he cannot have.
Officer Caitlyn Nash

She earned the nickname Torquetta, which she adopted as her callsign when she became an elite test pilot in the Everlight Imperium's air force.
